My Gym Routine

I really don't have a planned exercise routine. I would describe it more as a habitual exercise routine. My schedule does not allow me to plan a week-in, week-out stagnant, steady routine. I wouldn't be able to uphold to it. Recently, I have been asked by several friends to list out my routine. I started to write it out and soon realized that it changes with each week. With my job, my Advocare business rapidly growing, traveling, weeknight dinners, etc., I seriously keep a gym bag stocked with a change of clothes in my car and I figure out what I am going to do at the gym as I am driving to work.

So, I have tried to piece together somewhat of a routine. I will say, like I have said many times, that I lift heavier weights. Like, I use 15 lbs for bicep curls. Gasp, I know. I am going to do a post later this week on the benefits of lifting weights so I won't go into that right now.

Here is a typical week:

Sunday: Cardio Day - either a 45 min run or stair climber

Monday: Back, Biceps, Triceps + Cardio

Tuesday: Lower Body workout (all lower muscles) + Cardio

Wednesday: Chest, Shoulders, Biceps, Triceps + Cardio

Thursday: Cardio Only

Saturday: Lower Body + Cardio

Weekend Plans

Nothing.

I am so tired and have zero plans and am thrilled. With being in Dallas last week and being in Lynchburg next weekend, I need a weekend to sit and do nothing but watch movies, reality TV, work out, maybe go get a cupcake, play with Tyke, clean my house, go to church and just ... chill.

I hope you all have a great weekend too!

Ballard Designs

I am in love with Ballard Designs. If only I could go on a Ballard shopping spree. I ordered this shower curtain in November and it was on back-order until one week ago! It finally arrived and boy, was I a happy girl! Love the monogram on it, too.

Weekend in Dallas- Advocare Convention

This weekend, I flew out to Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas for the Advocare conference. It was such an amazing weekend and of course, I had to share! Advocare has changed my body and is now changing my life. With endorsements from pro athletes like Colt McCoy & Drew Brees, and a team of 8 doctors behind the research, I place full trust in the capability of this product line. Here are just a few snapshots of the weekend... more to come!

Colt McCoy sharing his favorite Advocare products

My lifelong friend, Pam. She introduced me to Advocare last summer when I started on just a cleanse. It's amazing to look back and see how that one phone call has changed so much.

Advocare Product Store

Three new products were introduced this year and LeptiLean is one of them! I bought a bottle for myself and am so excited about it! LeptiLean is a 3-fold product: provides appetite control, metabolism booster and provides the feeling of fullness to help fight cravings mid-afternoon.

Of course, I had to take a little photo of my favorite product of all -- our #1 best seller, Spark

I am SO excited about this new product, called Mass Impact! By no means am I trying or wanting to bulk up, but the reality is that the more lean muscle you put on, the more tighter you will look and the more calories you will burn. Mass Impact is part of Advocare's Performance Elite line and is to be taken 30 min. before working out. It aids in muscle endurance and performance. This, alongside of Catalyst, watch out results!

While checking out Mass Impact, I ran into Coach Joe Seay, coach for the US Olympic Wrestling Team. He was so nice and his exact words to me were, "Advocare is the reason we won the World Championship."

That which I did not see

Isn't it awesome to get to a point where you look back on several months or even years and say, "Wow, so... God knew all along." I had an a-ha moment tonight. A year ago this month, I thought my life was just over. Well, 'over' may be a tad too dramatic, but I did feel like a helpless hermit. I will never forget the days last spring of driving up to work through the mountains of Virginia and being so upset that I would have to pull over the car and just scream it out and beg God to send me something positive. Something good in life. A direction. A change. Anything to get the heck out of where I was.

I spent 14 hours today at the Ft. Worth Convention Center and Omni Hotel in Texas in Advocare meetings. I learned about our new products, I spoke with our 8 doctors behind our products and I spoke with many people making more money than I ever thought possible. I turned to my friend, Pam and said, "Pam, I truly believe that God allowed that heartbreak to happen because he saw such a bright future for me around the bin."

I see it. In a year's timing, I have gotten a fabulous marketing job in Atlanta, bought a house, got a sweet dog, bought a new car and began my product story on Advocare which is now turning into a business. The other day I had a friend say, "Okay Brittney, enough change. Let's chill for a while." I couldn't help but laugh.

All this to say is that I am so thankful for the rough year I had. I am so thankful I am not living in Harrisonburg VA. I am so glad. For God saw other plans for me.... that which I did not see.

A & A

Yep... I love them together again.

Spark Video: How to Prepare/Drink

Hey Guys! I am utilizing on-board Internet on my flight to Dallas for the Advocare convention this weekend! I am so pumped. So many of you took advantage of free ship for Spark this week and it's been fun to meet you via email. One blogger who bought Spark actually lives 5 miles down the road from me. Small world!

In an effort to eliminate constant repetition of how to take the product, I thought it would just be best to do a how-to vlog on how to prepare Spark! I took this yesterday morning and my voice is so groggy! Sorry ahead of time.

Shop Spark here!

BMW

I bought a BMW this weekend. I got a good deal and it's beautiful.

Had a great weekend! Dinner Saturday night with V and our new friend, B! I really enjoyed driving my car around until...

11 pm on 285E, BOOM. Tire blew. Well, it more so ripped off the rim. I love how that happened 7 hours after I bought the car. Story of my life. I had to call a tow and everything. Made it home around 3 am. Thankfully, the dealership is replacing it and I am picking it up tonight!

The Time to Workout

"......but I just don't have time." Bull. There are 24 hours in a day, you can devote at least 1, or at the very least, half of 1 to exercising. That has been my motto for the last few years and I try so hard to stick to it.

As I do many nights, I went out to dinner with a friend and got home around 9:30. After I took Tyke out, I had this sudden crazy burst of energy (may or may not be due to the Spark I had at 7pm!) and I drove on over to my 24 hour gym! I lifted upper body and ran a few miles. It felt great and I was glad I went. Though a busy day at work and dinner, I still made time for it -- even at 11:00 at night.

I keep a crazy book. (book meaning schedule). My gym time is written into my agenda as an appointment that cannot be missed. Take this week for example: I worked out Sunday through Thursday. Everyday (yay!).

Sunday: Afternoon
Monday: Night after work
Tuesday: Morning (had dinner plans)
Wednesday: During lunch (had evening plans)
Thursday: 10pm (Made sure I did it by close of day)

All this to say that I have a hard time when people tell me they have no time to exercise. Either get up an hour earlier, go at lunch or go at night. It doesn't have to be the same time each day. For people with crazy agendas, like me, it probably won't be everyday.

My advice to you is to not set in stone on Monday that you are going to work out 'every night this week'. For, plans will probably change at some point. Instead, before you go to bed at night, think about what the following day will hold. If you have dinner plans, get up an hour earlier or go at lunch. If you have a free night, then plan to go at night and take advantage of a fun lunch with co-workers.

The bottom line is this: You have time. Find the right time that works for you, your family, your work and personal schedule!

Travel Whirlwind

I feel like a Busy Bee. Throughout the months of January through March, I will be going to:

Work trip to Minneapolis

Weekend trip to Lynchburg

Weekend trip to Dallas

Work trip to Phoenix

Cleanse... so, what's next?

I am so excited for all you blog friends who kicked off your 2011 New Year Resolutions with Advocare's Herbal Cleanse! I received such great feedback from many of you who experienced:

*Weight Loss
*Flatter Tummy
*Lighter Feeling

So, what's next? Since you have rid your body of excess toxins and waste, it is now in a prime state to receive great nutrition! The core of Advocare is our Metabolic Nutrition System (MNS).

These are not diet pills.

In fact, I cringe when people say the word Diet Pill. MNS is a dietary supplement packed with EVERY vitamin and mineral your body needs on a daily basis that we do not derive from the foods we eat. Nutrition is what you gain, not a quick fix. Overall nutrition is so vital for our bodies to accomplish what it should on a daily basis. The MNS system is packed with 50 vitamins, minerals, herbal extracts and antioxidants.

*CorePlex (Your A, B, C and D)
*Resotre (Activia in a capsule)
*Calcium Plus (self-explanatory)
*OmegaPlex
*Amplify A.T.

Weight loss is something many do see, but only because bodies respond accordingly to good nutrition.

Parks and Cupcakes

What a great weekend! The weather was such a tease -- 65 degrees! I think we deserved it after that ice storm a few weeks ago that had all we Atlantans iced-in for days! I was out and about and it felt great. Saturday, V and I decided to take Tyke to Chastain Park for a stroll, but before, we made a stop to try GiGi's Cupcakes. Pictures below. We got 2 each but could only finish like half of one! We just poked at each one to taste-test. I hate to say it, but they blew Atlanta's CamiCakes out of the water. I will also not even begin to compare them to Georgetown Cupcake in DC -- just take a look at them below and you can gather your own thoughts!

Gigi's is also coming out with special Valentines Day cupcakes! V and I were like, "Omg, we will have to try them!"

Tyke was tuckered out after the park! Also, can I just say, thank God for Kongs!
