This girl sure was missed this year. She emailed us with updates from Africa everyday!
This was not my most favorite Christmas, nor will it be the one most memorable. Several reasons contribute to this, but the biggest one of all was not having my sister around. We missed her so much. Second, I was battling a twinge of a stomach virus all week not feeling well at all. Not feeling well leads to not wanting to get ready or dress up at all. Not wearing makeup and clothes not fitting right because you feel sick makes you feel fat.... and so on and so on..... just was a blah holiday. I guess they can't all be fantastic, huh?
Honestly, I sort of escaped for a few days. I turned my BlackBerry off, I escaped from facebook, barely tweeted, didn't do one ounce of shopping, barely read any blogs, barely texted any friends. It changes when the majority of your best friends are married, having kids or are in serious relationships during the holidays. It's ok... I knew it was coming.
All in all, it was an 'ok' week. I was glad to get away for a few days... glad to see my family and spend time with my growing cousins. But at the end of each day, I would retire upstairs early and read and settle in quietly for the night.... not feeling like myself and not really knowing why.
Here are some photos from our Tennessee Christmas. Enjoy...
Since Ash was gone, we got a little doll to 'represent' her in family pictures!
CAUGHT in the Krispy Kreme box!
They were every bit of good.
We celebrated my grandparent's 50th and my parent's 25th Anniversary this year!
This picture cracks me up -- love my Poppy!
I hope you all had a wonderful Merry Christmas with your families and loved ones. I look forward to closing out this final week of 2010 and ringing in the New Year next weekend!

I kinda had one of those Christmas's (sans stomach virus). I love the picture of your grandpa and you though :)
ReplyDeleteI hope 2011 is a year filled with joy for you!
ReplyDeleteYou have an adorable family! I hope you are feeling better!
ReplyDeleteI hope you are feeling better and are able to enjoy New Years! You have a beautiful family and the home is completely amazing.
ReplyDeleteAw those pics are fun! And congrats to your grandparents and parents on two fabulous anniversaries this year! :) I hope you're feeling better, girlie.. Glad that your sis is safe and sound and sending updates, even though she was missed at Christmas. I took a hiatus from the social networking, too. I agree about the marriage, kiddos, etc. I'm so happy for everyone...but yeah. Come to Tulsa and we'll have lots of wine and laughs! Or we can just meet halfway! hah! That's prolly somewhere weird like some random corner in Arkansas...haha.. Comedy. XOXO, gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou have a lot of fun pics even though you had a less than stellar holiday. I totally agree about the married friends, etc. It makes it kind of hard. My friends all have their own lives like that so I feel bad bothering them and assume it's better off to be lonely.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, you look gorgeous in the pics and I especially love your red coat. I hope you have a wonderful New Year!!
